Bike Shifting in Pappanamcode

If the crew must bring it out, show them the route, the tight spot and the car. Ask them to fold in the bike's mirrors and turn the handlebar away from the car as they pass. A blanket or a piece of cardboard over the car's nearest panel adds a layer of safety.

Check the car together afterwards. Two minutes, a torch if it's dim, and everyone goes their way content. A quick look with the owner once the bike is out, while everyone is still there, settles any question before it becomes one.

Think about the timing with the household move. If your furniture is going out through the same porch, the bike should leave first, so the crew carrying a wardrobe aren't squeezing past both a car and a bike. Bring it out to the gate before the household crew start.

Clear your corner. Tenants often keep a bike cover, a helmet, a can of chain lube or a lock in the porch. Take them with you, and sweep the spot where the bike stood. Owners notice oil stains.

Return any shared gate key or remote the owner gave you for the bike, and say a proper goodbye. Owners remember tenants who leave the porch as they found it.
