Look out for any customer garment still in the boot or the box. A finished blouse delivered late because it went on a carrier to the new house is a lost customer.

Pins are the obvious hazard, but they are not the only one. Chalk dust, thread ends and small scraps of interlining collect in every gap of a tailor's scooter: under the seat, around the floor mat, in the glovebox. None of it is dangerous, but it travels with the bike and comes out at the new address. A five minute clean with a brush and a vacuum nozzle before collection is worth doing. While you are at it, check the seat lock and the boot hinge. A boot that pops open on a bumpy run will spill whatever was missed.

Then think about the business itself. Customers who drop off and collect clothes will need the new address, and the scooter is how most deliveries happen. Plan the move so the scooter is back on the road at the new place within a day or two, and keep a few orders' worth of finished garments with you rather than in the boxes, so you can still deliver while the room is being set up.
