Bike Shifting in Jalahalli

Parts of Jalahalli sit inside establishments with a manned gate. Residents come and go with passes, and outside vehicles need permission, which comes from the establishment rather than from you. Make sure the bike can leave without a problem, and if it carries an establishment sticker, ask whether it should be removed or surrendered when you leave for good.

Ride it out yourself if you can. The person who rides the bike out should have a licence and the bike's papers. If you aren't able to, a family member or a friend with access can do it. The crew can't, since they won't have a pass either.

Agree the timing. Have the bike at the meeting point a few minutes before the carrier arrives, not long before, since a bike left unattended by a roadside is a risk. Keep your phone on, so the driver can call as they approach.

Think about helmets and keys. The rider who brings the bike out needs a helmet for the short stretch on the public road, and once the bike is loaded, they are on foot outside the gate. Make sure they have a way back in, a pass on them, and that the bike's key either travels in your bag or is handed to the crew against a receipt, as you prefer. A spare key left in the bike's boot is a common slip on a hurried morning.

The same applies in reverse. If you are moving into an establishment in Jalahalli, the carrier can drop the bike just outside the gate, and you ride it in. That avoids a second pass application for a small vehicle.
