A properly strapped scooter doesn't, because the straps hold the frame at fixed points and the tyres sit on the vehicle floor, and the crew checks the tension again when the vehicle is about to leave. What does go wrong is a bike loaded in a rush at the end of a long day, with straps that nobody has looked at since the morning. That's why we suggest loading the scooter early.

Now the bike specific part. If the scooter is your daily ride, think about Monday morning. A bike sleeping sealed on a vehicle at a yard isn't available to ride to work at eight. So for a household moving over a weekend with a working rider, the smarter plan is often to send the scooter on its own job on the first evening, delivered straight to the new address where someone waits, and leave the furniture for the second day. The second bike specific point is the key. Keep it in your pocket, not in the ignition and not in a carton. A sealed vehicle overnight is the wrong place for the one small object you'll need first thing, and it's the bike equivalent of the mattress nobody can reach at ten at night. Same for the helmet and the papers folder.

Third is the tank. Near reserve is right, and it stays right overnight. A fuller tank in a warm yard isn't dangerous but it leaves you no cushion if the day changes and the bike waits an extra night.
