Bike Shifting in ITPL
Most bikes that come to ITPL arrive a little after their owners. The owner lands for a joining date with a laptop bag, and the motorcycle or scooter follows on a carrier. The question worth settling before either leaves is simple: which papers go in your bag, and which go with the bike.

Bike Shifting in ITPL, Bangalore
ITPL draws people from every other city. Someone takes a role in one of the tech parks, finds a flat nearby over a video call, and arrives for a fixed joining date. The household follows, and very often so does the bike that got them to work in Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi or Delhi. Because the person and the bike travel separately, the papers have to be split between them, and a surprising number of people get that split backwards.
The rule is easy to remember. Originals travel with you. Copies travel with the bike. The original RC, the insurance policy document, and anything with a signature on it go in your hand luggage, not in the bike's folder and never in a carton. A set of clear photocopies, one of each, goes in a folder that stays with the bike on the vehicle, so anyone who asks about the bike on the road can see what it is and whose it is.
Why not send the originals with the bike? Because you will need them before the bike arrives. The new society near ITPL will ask for a vehicle registration form with an RC copy, and many want to see the original once. Your insurer may want the policy details to update your address. If you want a parking sticker or a basement bay from day one, the original RC is what the association office looks at. A folder tucked into a vehicle somewhere on the highway is no help then.
Why not keep everything with you? Because the bike, alone on a carrier with no papers at all, invites a question it cannot answer. A copy of the RC, the policy and a valid PUC in the folder lets the driver show that this is a registered bike, insured, being moved by a company with an invoice. That, plus the driver's own documents, is what a check on the road usually wants.
The gap between your arrival and the bike's is the part to plan. Long distance vehicles are often shared, and a shared vehicle arrives in a window rather than at an hour. We tell you the window honestly and keep you posted, rather than promising a day we might miss. Meanwhile you get on with the society paperwork using your originals, so that when the bike reaches the gate, its bay is already waiting.
Delivery at ITPL itself is usually straightforward. The approach roads are wide, most housing is in towers with basements, and societies here see shifting all the time. Two cautions: several societies stop vehicle movement at six in the evening, and the stretch past the tech parks is slow between five and eight. We aim deliveries earlier in the day.
Scooter and Scooty Shifting in ITPL
Scooters make the trip to ITPL as often as motorcycles, since many people living here ride a scooty the short distance to work. The paper split is the same. Before the scooter leaves the old city, empty the under seat compartment, and take out any original documents kept in there, which is a common habit. Put them in your bag, and put copies in the bike's folder.
On the vehicle the scooter stands upright, held by straps through the frame, with a cover over its panels for the long ride.
EV Scooter Shifting in ITPL
Electric scooters are increasingly coming to ITPL with their owners. For an EV, there is no PUC, but the RC and insurance split the same way: originals with you, copies with the scooter. The pack stays in the scooter for the trip; just mention on the booking call whether yours is fixed or removable.
Before you arrive, ask the new society about charging. Many towers here have rules on where an EV can be charged, and knowing that before the scooter reaches the gate saves a week of improvising.
Two Wheeler Transport from ITPL to Other Cities
Bikes come to ITPL from all over India, and some leave again when a project ends. Either way, the price is set per kilometre and agreed in writing before collection, and the bike is carried on the vehicle from pickup to delivery.
Out of Bangalore, a bike from ITPL to another city follows the same split: the owner holds the originals and the folder on the bike holds copies. If a friend is handing over or receiving the bike in your place, give us their name early and we will agree with you which papers they hold.

Getting Your Bike Ready in ITPL
Make the copies before you pack anything. Photocopy the RC on both sides, the insurance policy's first page and the PUC, and put them in a clear folder labelled with the bike's number.
Put the originals in your hand luggage, in a separate envelope. Not in a carton, not in the bike's folder, not in the under seat compartment.
Photograph all the originals on your phone as well. If the envelope is ever misplaced, the photos make getting duplicates much easier.
Ask your new society near ITPL what it needs for a vehicle bay and apply as soon as you land. Use your originals for that, while the bike is still on its way.
Check the society's movement hours before the delivery window is fixed. If shifting stops at six, a late evening arrival will have to wait for morning.
Moving the whole household too? Our packers and movers in ITPL page covers the house move, and a bike can travel on the same vehicle.

Before Your Bike Is Collected in ITPL
Fuel
Ride the tank down to reserve in the days before collection. A small amount is fine; a full tank is not wanted on a loaded vehicle.
Papers
Photocopies of the RC, the insurance policy and your photo ID travel with the bike. Keep the originals, especially the RC, with you. If the RC is not in your name, mention it when you book.
Condition record
Photograph the bike from every side and at the odometer. The crew also notes its condition at pickup, and you keep a copy of that note.
Insurance
Transit insurance is available on a value you declare. Keep the bike's own motor insurance valid for the journey as well.
At delivery
Check the bike against the pickup note and your photographs before signing, and point out anything new while the crew is still there.
Handover
If someone else will hand over or receive the bike, tell us who when you book, and we will confirm what they need to have with them.
What a Bike Move Does Not Include
- We do not ride your bike to the new address. It travels on a vehicle, standing upright and strapped at the frame.
- Ride the tank down to reserve before pickup. A near empty tank is safer on a loaded vehicle.
- We do not repair, service or start a bike that will not start. Tell us at booking so it is loaded the right way.
- Helmets, jackets and tools travel in a carton or with you, never strapped to the bike.
- RC transfer, address change and re-registration in a new state are yours to do, or an agent's.
Bike Shifting in ITPL: Questions People Ask
Copies: a clear photocopy of the RC on both sides, the first page of the insurance policy and a valid PUC. They go in a labelled folder that stays with the bike.
With you, in your hand luggage, in a separate envelope. You will need them in Bangalore before the bike arrives, for the society and possibly the insurer.
Because you are the one who needs them first. A new society near ITPL often wants to see the original RC before giving you a parking bay, and the bike may still be on the road.
Copies of the RC, insurance and PUC, plus our invoice and the driver's own documents, are what the carrier normally shows. Keep your originals reachable by phone in case anyone asks for more.
It depends on distance. From a neighbouring state, expect roughly Rs 15 to 20 per kilometre, and more for long cross country runs. The total is agreed in writing before collection.
Local runs are charged from Rs 2,500, and a Marathahalli or KR Puram to ITPL hop rarely gets anywhere near the Rs 5,500 ceiling. We send the exact figure in writing.
Long distance vehicles are often shared, so they arrive in a window. We give you that window honestly before you book and keep you updated. We do not promise a fixed number of days.
Yes. Tell us your joining date as well as your move date. We plan backwards from it, so you know roughly when the bike will land relative to your first week.
That is exactly why the original travels with you. Show it at the association office as soon as you arrive, and the bay can be ready before the bike is.
Yes. A scooty needs the RC copy, insurance copy and valid PUC in its folder, with the originals in your bag. Check the under seat space for any originals kept there.
No, an EV has no exhaust. The RC and insurance still split the same way. Share the model and how its battery is fitted when you book.
Ask the society before you arrive. Many towers here have rules about where EVs can charge. Sorting it early saves you a week of searching.
Yes. Put their name on the booking, and ask them to keep a phone handy for our driver. Leave them the copies folder and a note from you, not the originals.
We aim for earlier in the day, since some societies stop shifting at six and the road past the tech parks is slow between five and eight.
Yes. If you land before the flat is ready, the bike can be held in Bangalore storage, quoted after we know how long.
Usually, when both leave the old city together. One vehicle doing both jobs tends to work out cheaper, and the surveyor marks a bike space on the load plan.
Yes. A policy that runs out mid journey should be renewed before collection, not after. The original goes with you and the copy with the bike.
Yes, on a value you declare. It covers the bike while it is with us, separate from your own policy.
No. The bike is pushed from the carrier to your parking level. It is never ridden.
Look it over against the condition note from pickup, before you sign. The folder of copies comes back to you with the bike.
Add a signed note from the parent and a copy of their ID to the folder, and carry another set yourself. The booking call covers which of the parent's documents we need to sight.
That is an RTO question and depends on your situation. We do not handle re-registration. Check with the RTO, since the move itself does not require it.
Your originals are safe in your bag, and your phone photos cover the rest. That is the point of keeping them apart.
Yes. The same rule applies in reverse. Originals with you, copies in the folder, price per kilometre agreed in writing.
Leave one key with the person handing over the bike, and carry the spare yourself. The spare in your bag is the same logic as the originals: if anything goes astray, you still have what you need in Bangalore.
With you. It is an original document and occasionally useful for insurance or registration questions later. A copy in the bike's folder does no harm, but the original belongs in your envelope.
Call +91 90908 28210 with the origin city, your ITPL address, the bike model and your joining date. We send a written figure and an honest delivery window.
