Bike Shifting in Huskur

Owners moving into flats they bought years ago as an investment are common in Huskur. The flat has been let to a series of tenants, the owner lived elsewhere, and now the owner is moving in. The flat itself usually needs some work. The parking bay often needs some too.

Over years of tenancies, an allotted bay drifts. A tenant who had no bike let a neighbour use it. Another used it for a second scooter of their own and handed it to a friend when they left. Someone stored a broken cycle and a few boxes in the corner. The association may have quietly reallocated it, or may no longer be sure which bay belongs to which flat. By the time the owner arrives with a bike, there may be another bike in the space, and its owner may sincerely believe it is theirs to use.

So find out before the move, not on the day.

Check the sale documents or the allotment letter for the bay number. Many builders allot a specific bay to each flat, and it is written into the sale deed or a separate letter. If it isn't, ask the association for their record.

Then go and look. Is the bay empty? Is someone else's bike in it? Are there things stored there? Take a photo.

If it is being used, speak to the association first, then to the person using it. Most of the time, it's a misunderstanding that resolves with a polite conversation and a little notice. Give them a week or two to find another space. If they are a tenant in another flat, they may need to speak to their own landlord.

If the association reallocated it, ask what the basis was and when your bay will be returned. Bring the allotment letter. If there's a genuine dispute, the managing committee is where it is settled, not in the basement on moving day.

Clear anything stored in the bay. If it belonged to a past tenant, ask the association how to dispose of it.

Once the bay is clear, mark it if the society allows. A bay number painted on the wall or a small sign makes it obvious. Then tell security that your bike will arrive on a given date and which bay it goes to.

Inspect the bay itself while you're there. Years of other people's vehicles leave oil stains, a broken wheel stop, a light that no longer works or a drain that floods in heavy rain. Report anything that is the society's to fix, and clean the floor before the bike arrives. If the bay has a socket, check it works and is on your meter.

Also check the old tenant's access items. A parking sticker, tag or remote issued to a tenant should have been returned when they left. If it wasn't, ask the association to cancel it, so the bay can't be used by someone holding an old pass.

On the day, the crew unload the bike straight into the reclaimed bay, and you check together that it sits square inside the lines, clear of the pillar and the next car's door.
