Bike, Scooter and Two Wheeler Shifting · HRBR Layout, Bangalore

Bike Shifting in HRBR Layout

HRBR Layout has many big family houses where grown children once lived and a bike still does. The owner has moved to a flat across the city or to another state, and the motorcycle or scooter stayed in the parents' porch. Moving it means working with two people in two places, and that is simple once it is planned.

Bike Shifting

Bike Shifting in HRBR Layout, Bangalore

The family houses of HRBR Layout have been lived in for a long time, and they collect things left behind by the people who have moved on. A son or daughter sets up a first home elsewhere, often a flat with one allotted parking bay or none at all, and the bike stays where it always stood: in the porch, behind the gate, under a cover beside the car. For a while that works. Then the owner finds parking, or moves to another city, or the parents want the porch back, and the bike needs to go.

What makes this different from an ordinary bike move is that the person who owns the bike is not the person standing at the gate. The owner is at work in Whitefield, or in Pune, or abroad for a month. The person at the gate is a parent, an uncle, a grandparent or a sibling still living at home. They have the keys, they know where the bike is, but they may not ride and they may not know its history. So the collection has to be planned around both of them.

We start with the owner. They book, they tell us the model, where it is going and who will be at the HRBR house, and they approve the written price. Then we speak to the relative, to agree a time that fits the house. Older relatives often prefer a mid morning slot after the household routine has settled, and the wide layout roads make that easy, because the vehicle can usually stop right at the gate.

On the day, the relative hands over the keys and the papers the owner has left for the journey. The crew looks over the bike with them, notes any marks or dents, and the relative signs the condition note. We send a copy to the owner too, so the person who knows the bike can check it. If the owner is reachable by phone, a quick video call while the crew walks round the bike settles any question on the spot.

Bikes left at a relative's house tend to have been ridden less than they used to be. A motorcycle that has stood in a porch for a season might have a soft tyre or a sleepy battery. That does not stop it being moved, since it is walked and loaded rather than ridden. Just let us know if it has not been started lately, so nobody on the crew tries to kick it into life at the gate.

Where the bike goes also varies. Sometimes it goes to the owner's new flat across Bangalore, a short run past Kalyan Nagar or Banaswadi. Sometimes it goes to another city, and occasionally it is being handed to a different relative altogether. Each of those is a normal job. What makes them go smoothly is that everybody involved knows who is handing over, who is receiving, and what papers are travelling with the bike.

Scooters

Scooter and Scooty Shifting in HRBR Layout

A scooter left at a parent's house has often been used by the parents themselves for small errands, and it may carry signs of that: a shopping hook, a bag of spare bulbs under the seat, a note of the last service. Ask the relative to empty the space under the seat a day ahead, since anything left there belongs to the family, not to the journey.

If the scooty is going to a younger sibling or cousin rather than back to the owner, tell us both names at booking. We deliver to whoever you name, and it helps to know in advance who will be signing at the other end.

Electric

EV Scooter Shifting in HRBR Layout

Electric scooters left at a relative's house are usually charged from a household socket in the porch. Ask the relative to unplug it and keep the charger aside so it goes with the scooter, packed separately. The owner should share the model and battery details when booking, because the relative may not know them.

If the EV has not been ridden much lately, mention how the battery has been holding charge. The crew will plan its handling on the vehicle from what you tell us.

Intercity

Two Wheeler Transport from HRBR Layout to Other Cities

Often the owner is in another city and wants the bike there with them. That is interstate bike transport, priced per kilometre and agreed in writing before the collection. The relative in HRBR Layout hands it over, and the owner receives it at the other end.

The owner keeps the original RC. If the originals are still in a drawer at the family house, ask the relative to post them or keep them safe. The bike travels with photocopies, and nobody should hand original documents to a crew they have not met.

Before the Day

Getting Your Bike Ready in HRBR Layout

Decide who will hand over the bike before you book. It should be someone at the HRBR house who can spare an hour and is comfortable signing the condition note.

Leave the keys and the photocopied papers in one envelope with that person. A bike's keys drift around a family house, and the spare often lives in a different drawer from the main one.

Tell the relative what the bike's condition was when you last rode it. They will be asked about marks and dents on the tank and panels, and it helps if they know what was already there.

If the bike has been under a cover for months, ask the relative to take the cover off the evening before, so dust and bird droppings do not hide the bodywork during the check.

Keep your phone on at collection time. A two minute video call with the crew is the easiest way for an owner who is not there to see the bike leave.

Moving the whole household too? Our packers and movers in HRBR Layout page covers the house move, and a bike can travel on the same vehicle.

Checklist

Before Your Bike Is Collected in HRBR Layout

  • Fuel

Ride the tank down to reserve in the days before collection. A small amount is fine; a full tank is not wanted on a loaded vehicle.

  • Papers

Photocopies of the RC, the insurance policy and your photo ID travel with the bike. Keep the originals, especially the RC, with you. If the RC is not in your name, mention it when you book.

  • Condition record

Photograph the bike from every side and at the odometer. The crew also notes its condition at pickup, and you keep a copy of that note.

  • Insurance

Transit insurance is available on a value you declare. Keep the bike's own motor insurance valid for the journey as well.

  • At delivery

Check the bike against the pickup note and your photographs before signing, and point out anything new while the crew is still there.

  • Handover

If someone else will hand over or receive the bike, tell us who when you book, and we will confirm what they need to have with them.

Good to Know

What a Bike Move Does Not Include

  • We do not ride your bike to the new address. It travels on a vehicle, standing upright and strapped at the frame.
  • Ride the tank down to reserve before pickup. A near empty tank is safer on a loaded vehicle.
  • We do not repair, service or start a bike that will not start. Tell us at booking so it is loaded the right way.
  • Helmets, jackets and tools travel in a carton or with you, never strapped to the bike.
  • RC transfer, address change and re-registration in a new state are yours to do, or an agent's.
