So time it to the day. The bike's move should bend to the household's rhythm, not the other way round.

Mid morning usually works best. It's the part of the day when most fasting households have the most energy. People are up, the heat hasn't built, and there's time before the afternoon slows down. A collection at ten or eleven fits most households well.

Avoid the hour before sunset. That's when the household is preparing to break the fast, and nobody wants to be walking round a bike in the parking. It's also when roads near mosques and markets get busy.

Think about relatives who are visiting. In Ramadan many households host family from elsewhere, and the porch may hold their vehicles as well as yours. Ask them to move their cars or bikes before the collection, or choose a morning after they've gone back.

Avoid the evening altogether. Even a short visit then intrudes on the most important part of the day. After iftar, families are together, prayers follow, and visitors arrive. It's not the time for a moving crew.

Keep the visit short. A bike already waiting by the gate, key and papers beside it, means the crew leave within minutes. Don't feel obliged to offer refreshments; the crew don't expect it, and in Ramadan it's no hardship to them.

Think about the crew too. Many crew members may be fasting themselves. A mid morning slot suits them as much as it suits you, and a short, well prepared handover is the kindest thing for everyone.

Think about the market streets. Chavakkad's markets and the roads near mosques get very busy in the evenings of Ramadan, with shoppers, stalls and worshippers. A carrier trying to pass through at that hour struggles. Another reason to keep the bike's move in the morning.

Think about Eid. The days around Eid are busy with family, travel and celebration, and many people take leave. Moving a bike just before or during Eid is harder; a week after is calmer.

Consider the weeks either side. A move just before Ramadan begins, or a week after Eid, avoids the question entirely. If the move can wait until after Ramadan, or happen just before, that's often simplest. If it can't, the mid morning slot works well.
