Bike Shifting in KR Puram
KR Puram is where Old Madras Road, the Outer Ring Road and the railway line meet, and a great many bikes leave the city from here on a carrier. The move is rarely held up by the bike. When anything slows it down, it is usually a paper: an expired PUC, an unreadable RC copy, or a policy that lapsed last month.

Bike Shifting in KR Puram, Bangalore
Krishnarajapuram is a junction in every sense. Old Madras Road runs out toward Hoskote and on to other states, the ORR swings south to Mahadevapura and north to Hebbal, and the railway line cuts through the middle. Our own office is further along the same Old Madras Road in Cheemasandra, so KR Puram is daily ground for our crews, and a lot of the bikes we collect here are heading out of Bangalore rather than across it.
A bike on a carrier is still a registered vehicle, and on a long journey the vehicle carrying it can be stopped and asked about what it carries. That is ordinary, it happens on any highway, and it is over quickly when the papers answer the question. When they do not, the conversation takes longer. So on this page we spend most of our words on something dull but useful: the small folder of papers that should travel with your bike.
The first paper people forget is the PUC, the pollution under control certificate. It has a validity date, and on a bike that is ridden every day to Whitefield or Mahadevapura it is easy to let it run out without noticing. Check the date now. If it is close to expiring, get the bike tested before the move, while you can still ride it. Then ride it down to reserve for collection day. Doing it the other way round means a test with an empty tank.
The second is the insurance. The policy should be valid through the journey and for a while after, so there is no gap when the bike lands in a new city. People who renew online sometimes find the renewal failed quietly. Open the policy document, read the dates, and print a fresh copy. This is your own policy, separate from the transit cover we arrange on the value you declare.
The third is the RC. You keep the original, and a clear photocopy goes in the folder. Clear matters: a copy of a copy of a faded smart card, where the chassis number cannot be read, answers nothing. Make a fresh one. If someone else owns the bike on paper, a signed line from them and their ID copy go in too. That covers what a check on the road will usually want to see, and it is the same folder a new building's security desk will ask for at the other end.
Locally, KR Puram has its own timing puzzle. The Tin Factory junction and the ORR stretch toward Mahadevapura jam between eight and ten in the morning, metro work narrows some lanes, and the level crossings near the station can hold a queue for several minutes. We collect early, before eight where we can, and the crew walks bikes out of the tight lanes near the station and toward Devasandra to where the carrier can stand.
Scooter and Scooty Shifting in KR Puram
Scooters need the same folder as motorcycles, and the PUC catches scooter owners out even more often, because a scooty used for short trips to the station or the market feels too small to need one. It does need one. Check the date along with the insurance.
Clear the compartment under the seat before the day, including any old papers kept in there. On the vehicle the scooter is held upright by the frame with its panels wrapped, and the paper folder travels separately from the scooter itself.
EV Scooter Shifting in KR Puram
Electric scooters do not need a PUC, since they have no exhaust, which is one less date to check. The RC and insurance still matter, and the insurance on a newer EV is worth a quick look, because first year policies bundled by a dealer sometimes expire earlier than owners expect.
On the phone we will ask the EV's name and whether the pack is fixed or removable. It is carried with its battery, and the folder for it holds the RC copy and policy copy.
Two Wheeler Transport from KR Puram to Other Cities
From KR Puram, a bike going to Chennai, Hyderabad, Kerala or further is booked with a written figure set by the kilometre and carried on the vehicle from collection to delivery. Old Madras Road makes KR Puram a natural starting point for many of these runs.
Before an interstate journey, run through the folder one more time: PUC in date, insurance in date, a readable RC copy, and a note from the owner if it is not you. The originals stay in your own bag. If any date will run out while the bike is on the road, renew it first.

Getting Your Bike Ready in KR Puram
Check three dates a week before: the PUC, the insurance and, if you have one, the extended warranty. Put them on one sheet of paper so the folder is easy to check.
Get the PUC test done before you ride down to reserve. It sounds obvious. People reverse it every month.
Make fresh copies. Photocopy the RC, both sides, from the original, and make sure the registration and chassis numbers are sharp. Staple the insurance copy behind it.
Photograph everything on your phone too. If a folder goes astray, a clear phone photo still shows what the paper said.
If your route to the station or the carrier's stop crosses the railway line, start early. A level crossing closure at half past nine costs more time than one at seven.
Moving the whole household too? Our packers and movers in KR Puram page covers the house move, and a bike can travel on the same vehicle.

Before Your Bike Is Collected in KR Puram
Fuel
Ride the tank down to reserve in the days before collection. A small amount is fine; a full tank is not wanted on a loaded vehicle.
Papers
Photocopies of the RC, the insurance policy and your photo ID travel with the bike. Keep the originals, especially the RC, with you. If the RC is not in your name, mention it when you book.
Condition record
Photograph the bike from every side and at the odometer. The crew also notes its condition at pickup, and you keep a copy of that note.
Insurance
Transit insurance is available on a value you declare. Keep the bike's own motor insurance valid for the journey as well.
At delivery
Check the bike against the pickup note and your photographs before signing, and point out anything new while the crew is still there.
Handover
If someone else will hand over or receive the bike, tell us who when you book, and we will confirm what they need to have with them.
What a Bike Move Does Not Include
- We do not ride your bike to the new address. It travels on a vehicle, standing upright and strapped at the frame.
- Ride the tank down to reserve before pickup. A near empty tank is safer on a loaded vehicle.
- We do not repair, service or start a bike that will not start. Tell us at booking so it is loaded the right way.
- Helmets, jackets and tools travel in a carton or with you, never strapped to the bike.
- RC transfer, address change and re-registration in a new state are yours to do, or an agent's.
Bike Shifting in KR Puram: Questions People Ask
A clear copy of the RC, a copy of a valid insurance policy and a valid PUC. The originals stay with you. If the RC is in someone else's name, add a signed note from them and a copy of their ID.
It can, the same as any goods vehicle on a highway. It is usually quick when the bike's papers are in the folder and in date. That is why we ask you to check them before the day.
Get it renewed before the move if you can. The simplest order is to ride the bike to a testing centre first, then ride it down to reserve for the collection. An out of date certificate is the most common gap in the folder.
No. An EV has no exhaust, so there is no pollution certificate. The RC copy and insurance copy still go in the folder.
Moves across Bangalore start at Rs 2,500, and a standard bike seldom crosses Rs 5,500. The pickup lane, the destination and your timing decide the exact figure, which we send in writing.
A run to a neighbouring state is usually charged at Rs 15 to 20 for each kilometre. The long hauls cost more per kilometre. The total is written into the quote before collection.
No. Keep the original yourself. A sharp photocopy of both sides goes in the folder that travels with the bike.
Only if it can be read. Make a fresh copy from the original, and check that the registration and chassis numbers come out sharp. A blurry copy answers nothing.
Renew it before the move. A bike with no valid policy is exposed at both ends of the journey. Our transit cover is separate and only covers the bike in our care during the move.
Your policy is the bike's normal insurance and must stay valid. Transit cover is taken for the journey against a value you declare, and applies while the bike is with us.
No. A scooty needs the same three papers as a motorcycle: RC copy, insurance copy and a valid PUC. Scooter owners forget the PUC more often, so check it.
Please do not. Empty the compartment completely. The paper folder travels separately, so it is easy to find if anyone asks.
The crew will ask to see the folder before loading, so any gap is spotted in KR Puram rather than on the highway. It is a quick look, not an inspection.
Before eight in the morning, ahead of the Tin Factory rush, or late morning once it thins. If your route crosses the railway line, earlier is better still.
Lanes toward Devasandra are often like that. The vehicle parks on the nearest wide road, and your motorcycle is pushed on foot from your gate to its ramp.
Yes. Tell us the society name so we can check whether the security desk needs a form for a bike leaving. Many ring road towers do.
A short signed note from your sibling saying the bike is travelling with you, plus a photocopy of their identity card. Our booking call covers exactly what we need to see.
Yes. Those are regular runs out along Old Madras Road and the ORR. The folder of papers is the same for either.
No. The bike goes from the collection address to the delivery address you give at booking. Stops along the way are not part of the plan.
Ideally, yes. If it expires soon after delivery, you may need a new test before you ride much in the new city. Renewing before you leave avoids that.
No. We do not handle RC transfer or re-registration. Those are RTO processes the owner deals with.
Loading does not need the engine, so the bike still goes. Mechanical fixes are outside our work, so mention the problem when booking and let your mechanic look at it later.
A check is normally about papers, and the folder is what gets looked at. The bike stays strapped at the frame on the vehicle with its panels covered.
Yes. You get a written quote before the job and a GST invoice after it. Keep the invoice in the folder too, as a record of the move.
Tell us about it before booking. A bike still on a temporary number is a case where the papers matter even more, so the dealer's documents, the invoice and the temporary certificate should all be in the folder, and we will talk through the timing with you.
It is not a paper anyone on the road asks for, so keep it with your own things. It is useful at the other end, though, when you find a new service centre and they want the history.
Yes. The office is on Old Madras Road, a short drive from KR Puram. Call +91 90908 28210 first so someone is expecting you.
Call +91 90908 28210 with your area, the destination and the bike's model. Keep the PUC and insurance dates handy; we will ask for them.
