Bike Shifting in Koramangala 3rd Block

In a lot of 3rd Block houses there is a scooter by the garage that the family paid for and somebody else rides every day: the cook doing the market run, the driver on an errand, the housekeeper getting home on a day off. When the family moves, that scooter raises a question nobody has quite asked out loud. Whose is it, and where does it go now?

Bike Shifting

Bike Shifting in Koramangala 3rd Block, Bangalore

Koramangala 3rd Block is one of the quieter, greener blocks, with larger independent houses on wider plots alongside newer apartments. Our packers page for the block is about the small room at the back where a cook, a housekeeper, a nanny or a driver lives, and about treating that room as a household in its own right. The two wheeler that goes with that job deserves the same clarity. It is usually bought by the family, registered in a family member's name, insured by them, and ridden almost entirely by someone they employ.

That arrangement works well for years without anyone writing it down. A move is when it needs writing down. Before we collect the scooter, three things should be settled between the family and the person who rides it. First, whose bike is it, legally and in everyone's understanding? The RC answers the legal part. Second, is it moving with the family, staying with the rider, or going somewhere else entirely? Third, which person gives the keys to our crew, and which person takes them back after the journey?

The most common answer is the simplest. The family moves, the live in help moves with them, and the scooter follows both to the new house. In that case the family books the move, the rider hands it over and receives it, and we note on the condition record whose name is on the RC and who handed it over. It is worth telling the rider the plan early, the same courtesy the packers page recommends for their room, because they rely on the scooter for their daily work and will want to know when it disappears and when it comes back.

Sometimes the arrangement ends with the move. The new house is a flat with no staff quarters, or the person is going back to their home town. If the family decides the scooter goes with them as a parting gift or a sale, that is a real change of ownership, and the RC transfer is something the family and the new owner arrange with the RTO. We will move the scooter to the rider's home town if asked, priced on distance, but we do not handle the transfer. It is far better to start that paperwork before the scooter leaves than to leave a bike registered to a Bangalore family standing in a village hundreds of kilometres away.

And sometimes the scooter just gets forgotten. It stays at the old house for a week after everything else has gone, or it is ridden across town by the driver on moving day because nobody booked it. We would gently suggest neither. A bike ridden by staff on a hectic moving day, through Koramangala traffic, on the family's insurance, is a risk that is easy to avoid by putting it on the carrier with everything else.

The loading itself is easy in 3rd Block. Larger plots often leave space inside the gate for a vehicle, and the residential roads are quieter than the rest of Koramangala. The scooter is wheeled out from under the garage stair or the porch, strapped upright on the carrier, panels padded, and walked back in at the new house to wherever the rider will keep it. Tell us where that is, and the crew puts it there.

Scooters

Scooter and Scooty Shifting in Koramangala 3rd Block

Scooties are the usual choice for household staff because they are easy to ride, easy to park and good for market runs with a bag on the footboard. That also means the seat boot is often full of someone else's things: a rain jacket, shopping bags, a spare key, a phone charger. Before the move, ask the rider to empty it themselves. It is their daily kit, not the family's, and it should travel with them.

The scooty goes on the carrier upright with its panels padded. At the new house, confirm with the rider where it will be parked, so it is where they expect it on their first morning.

Electric

EV Scooter Shifting in Koramangala 3rd Block

Some families have bought an electric scooter for the help, which saves on fuel for daily errands. It rides the carrier with its battery still in it. When you book, tell us which scooter it is and if its battery can be taken out by hand. At the new house, sort out where it will be charged before it arrives, ideally somewhere the rider can reach easily without asking permission each night.

If the rider has been charging it in their own room from a wall socket, tell us. It changes nothing about the move, but it is worth deciding where charging happens at the new house.

Intercity

Two Wheeler Transport from Koramangala 3rd Block to Other Cities

When the scooter goes with the family to another city, it travels like any family vehicle, priced per kilometre on a written quote, with copies of the papers in its folder and the originals with the family. When it goes to the rider's home town instead, the family should start the RC transfer before the journey, and tell us who will receive it at the far end.

If the rider travels home ahead of the scooter, make sure they have the dates and the crew's contact, and that the person receiving it knows it is coming.

Before the Day

Getting Your Bike Ready in Koramangala 3rd Block

Talk to the person who rides the scooter before booking. Tell them the date, whether the scooter is moving with the family, and where it will be kept at the new house. They depend on it for work and will plan their week around it.

Look at the RC and the insurance. Confirm whose name is on each, and whether the insurance covers the rider. If the scooter is being given to the rider, discuss the RC transfer now rather than after it has left Bangalore.

Decide who hands the scooter over and who receives it, and tell us both names. If the family is busy with the main house, the rider may be the natural person to do it; if so, a short note from the registered owner saying so is sensible.

Ask the rider to empty the seat boot and take their own helmet and rain gear with them. Those things travel with the person, not strapped to the scooter.

Moving the whole household too? Our packers and movers in Koramangala 3rd Block page covers the house move, and a bike can travel on the same vehicle.

Checklist

Before Your Bike Is Collected in Koramangala 3rd Block

  • Fuel

Ride the tank down to reserve in the days before collection. A small amount is fine; a full tank is not wanted on a loaded vehicle.

  • Papers

Photocopies of the RC, the insurance policy and your photo ID travel with the bike. Keep the originals, especially the RC, with you. If the RC is not in your name, mention it when you book.

  • Condition record

Photograph the bike from every side and at the odometer. The crew also notes its condition at pickup, and you keep a copy of that note.

  • Insurance

Transit insurance is available on a value you declare. Keep the bike's own motor insurance valid for the journey as well.

  • At delivery

Check the bike against the pickup note and your photographs before signing, and point out anything new while the crew is still there.

  • Handover

If someone else will hand over or receive the bike, tell us who when you book, and we will confirm what they need to have with them.

Good to Know

What a Bike Move Does Not Include

  • We do not ride your bike to the new address. It travels on a vehicle, standing upright and strapped at the frame.
  • Ride the tank down to reserve before pickup. A near empty tank is safer on a loaded vehicle.
  • We do not repair, service or start a bike that will not start. Tell us at booking so it is loaded the right way.
  • Helmets, jackets and tools travel in a carton or with you, never strapped to the bike.
  • RC transfer, address change and re-registration in a new state are yours to do, or an agent's.
FAQ

Bike Shifting in Koramangala 3rd Block: Questions People Ask

Yes. Tell us at booking that the rider will hand it over, and ask whoever is named on the RC to sign a short letter for them, clipped to an RC photocopy. The crew records both names on the condition note.

A local move for the help's scooter follows the city rate card: Rs 2,500 for the easy cases, climbing toward Rs 5,500 for the awkward ones. On the same vehicle as the household it starts from Rs 2,999 onwards. Who rides it changes nothing.

Yes. That trip is costed by distance and you get the number on paper. If ownership is changing, start the RC transfer before it leaves. Tell us who will receive it there and we will say what they should have ready.

No. RC transfer is between the family, the new owner and the RTO. We can move the scooter, but the paperwork stays with you. Starting it before the scooter leaves Bangalore saves a lot of trouble.

We would advise against it. It is a hectic day, the family's insurance is at stake, and Koramangala traffic does not care. Putting the scooter on the carrier with the household removes that risk.

Usually very. Larger plots often leave space inside the gate for the vehicle, and the scooty is wheeled from the porch or under the garage stair straight onto it, panels padded and strapped upright.

Whoever will ride and park it, if the family agrees. Tell us their name at booking. The crew wheels it to the spot they point to and goes over its condition with them.

Check the policy before the move; that is a question for the family and the insurer. For the move itself, transit insurance with us covers the scooter on the carrier, on the value you declare.

Yes. The EV goes on the carrier with its battery. Tell us which model it is and how the battery comes out, if it does, and decide where it will be charged at the new house before delivery.

Not for the carrying. It is worth deciding at the new house whether charging stays in the staff room or moves to the garage, so the rider is not left without a charging point on day one.

Bike transport over that distance is charged by the kilometre, the rate falling somewhere from Rs 15 to Rs 28 depending on the band, and you see it on paper first. If the scooter is going to the rider's home state, sort out ownership first.

Someone from the family, or another person you name. Tell us at booking. Ask the rider to leave the keys, the spare and anything of theirs out of the seat boot before they go.

Yes, and it is better they do it rather than the family. Their rain jacket, bags and charger are their daily kit. Those things travel with the person, not strapped to the scooter.

Yes, on the same vehicle, each strapped separately and each with its own condition note. Tell us which is which and who rides each, so the right one ends up in the right spot.

Yes. Adugodi is next door and HSR not much further, and both are charged as ordinary Bangalore jobs. The same advice holds: tell the rider the plan and where the scooter will live at the new place.

Decide before the move whether it is stored, sold or given to the rider. We can store it in Bangalore by the week, priced after we see it, while the family decides.

We write down whose name is on the RC, who handed it over and every existing mark. A scooter used daily for errands usually has a few scuffs, and recording them protects everyone.

Yes. Heavier motorcycles need a little more care on the walk out and the loading, but the ownership questions are the same: whose name, who hands over, who receives.

Not at all. The crew wheels the scooter out from under the stair. Just make sure the garage is clear of the family car or anything else blocking the way on the morning.

Book about a week ahead. If ownership is changing, start that conversation and paperwork earlier. The move is the easy part; the understanding between family and rider takes longer.

Yes, provided a named person is at the gate and the parking spot is clear. Sometimes the help goes ahead to set up, and having the scooter there is useful for the first market run.

Phone +91 90908 28210. Say whose name is on the RC, who rides it, who will hand over and receive it, and both addresses. The quote comes in writing.
